Overview

I have managed my personal investments for over 25 years.  As well, my professional career has spanned a similar time frame and has been centered around bond trading and private client investment management.  Investment themes that particularly interest me at this time are the healthcare and savings needs of aging baby boomers and the unabated global demand for energy.  Industries I am interested in and follow are energy alternatives to petroleum based fuels, pharmaceutical/biotechnology, and the digital economy.  My asset allocation and portfolio holdings are primarily driven by macroeconomic (monetary policy and economic cycles) and demographic trends.  I would characterize myself as a value investor.  I believe equity returns will exceed all other asset classes in the long-run and therefore weight my portfolio holdings accordingly.  The equity portion of my portfolio varies between a third and half in index funds (ETFs) and the remainder in a selective group of stocks.

Portfolio Asset Allocation

My current (as of April 20,2007) portfolio asset allocation consists of 85% Stocks, 5% Short-term Notes (less than 2 years to maturity), and 10% Cash.  Foreign stocks make up 2.2% of my total equity holdings while US domestic stocks account for 97.8%.  The market capitalization of my equities holdings is 82% large cap, 9.5% mid-cap, and 8.5% small cap.
